Getting from Utila to San Pedro Sula on a Friday

Avianca will have to be mostly on-time, there's no lights at the Utila airport.

These charter flights can only run until sunset (as there are no lights on runway here), so that’s about 6:30 in summer or 5:00pm in winter.

Yes, I know that's a risk. If push comes to the shove, I'll take a taxi to La Ceiba, spend overnight somewhere close to the ferry terminal and catch the morning ferry to Utila. I'll miss 2 dives at most.

Under the present flight times, there is just 20 minutes in Miami before the AA flight from St Kitts lands and the one bound for Roatan takes off. Even if the incoming flight is on time, obviously, not enough time for a connection. But there is a possibility that this might be more favourable by 2016. Otherwise, it will have to be Avianca to SAP.

no worries about it being dark, the sun goes down at 6.30pm, even on the shortest day of the year it doesn't go down before 6.15pm
