My friend and I are planning a dive trip to Bonaire at the end of December. We're hoping to stay at Buddy Dive resort for 7 or 8 days. We're having some trouble finding flights to Bonaire from Chicago that work well for us. Apparently, only Delta and Continental fly into the island but only on weekends. Do we have any other options or is that the way to go? Thanks!

You can do insel air from miami. It's direct only once a week I think, but easy to go through curacao.

Or you can fly American Airlines from MIA to CUR then hop a small plane from CUR to BON.

Insel Air flys non-stop from MIA to BON on Saturdays, but fly almost daily MIA to CUR then take a small plane to BON.

Insel Air was a friendly nice group to fly with.

According to Expedia, Insel Air will take you from Curacao to Bonaire.

we are flying Continental from Houston to Bonaire direct this Friday night. Woo hoo.
The flight leaves at around midnight and arrives Bonaire first thing in the am in time to hit hotels.
We did this our last trip and it worked out well. So we leave here in ABQ around 4pm, arrive there and have 4 hours to kill... but then off to Bonaire. Woo Hoo!!!!

Thank you so much everybody for your responses! We were able to find a good deal through Aruba!

American Airlines is the cheapest way to do it. You can book a from ORD(ohare) to CUR(curacao) on the AA website. It will take you through Miami, and should be 450-550 bucks. Then using DAE( dutch antil. express) you can fly to bonaire for 105 bucks. If you fly out of chicago early, 0540 flight, you can get to cur as early as 1445, and to bonaire by 1830. This is how i do it, and I'm pretty sure its the cheapest and can be done just about any day of the week.
