I got my basic scuba open water through NAUI. Then I got Nitrox through SSI. Now I just got Advanced Open Water through PADI.

Is there a way for PADI to give me an Advanced & Nitrox combined card. That way, that is the only card that I have to carry?

Maybe I should email them.

I'm thinking that, if you could do it, it wouldn't be worth the money...

Heck, I bet PADI would make you pay $100 and do a checkout dive to get the "combo card."

Nice to see the agency diversity though, very cool. Do you consider yourself a NAUI, SSI, or PADI diver?

PADI cards are seperate for each specialty. It's no big deal really to carry both. Me I carry my rescue in the logbook along with AOW,drysuit, deep, uwnav, wreck, equip spec, etc. and my nitrox in my wallet. I only need it for fills anyway if I'm away from my local shop.

Actually, I have heard they now have combined the OW or AOW and Nitrox card. Problem is (the way I heard it), you can only do it on a renewal, which means paying another bit of extra $$. I have heard they wont do it unless you already had both, but you can always call and check. Again, this is all second hand, but its definatly worth looking into.

What do you mean on a renewal? There are no renewals with Padi, or I'm probably in trouble.

Seems to me that since they don't make you do dives for the nitrox speciality anymore (at least padi doesn't) that they would be willing to make a combo card if you called and gave them your ssi number, without doing any sort of check out dive.

My bad. Poor choice of words. By renewal I was refering to getting a new card. As in you lost one, wanted a new picture, old one is too hard to read, or something crazy like that. In no way was I inferring you have to renew your Padi credentials. Sorry about that.
