Why donate to ScubaBoard’s Treasure Hunt at Bonne Terre Mine?
This is our third annual Treasure Hunt. From the very start, our goal was to host the largest Treasure Hunt the industry has ever seen and turn it into a National Event.
In order to achieve our goal, we needed to offer the companies that donated prized more exposure to their products. So our decision to partner with ScubaBoard to sponsor the treasure hunt was just what the event needed.
GREAT EXPOSURE TO 135,000 CERTIFIED DIVERS
Our banner on ScubaBoard received over 100,000 impressions. The banner listed all the prizes, but not the companies that donated, people had to click on the banner to see who donated what prize. This year, we’ll get you even more exposure! We’ll have three different banners on ScubaBoard, and YOUR COMPANY NAME WILL BE ON THE BANNER, instead of your prize!. People will click on the banner to see what you donated. Over 135,000 divers can click on the description of your prize and go straight to your website! ScubaBoard newsletter The event will also be highlighted in two ScubaBoard newsletters sent to over 135,000 divers in February and April 2010.
HOW DO WE GUARANTEE, 3-5 MINUTES WITH EACH DIVER?
Each diver is given an auction book, it details the prizes and the order in which they are auctioned. BUT the divers have to go to the booths and get their auction book signed by EACH VENDOR in order to bid on the prizes. You can require them to try on your gear, watch a video of your resort or just listen to your “pitch” before you sign their auction books. Shows have great walk by traffic, but when was the last time you got to spend 3-5 minutes quality time with 170+ divers?
DEMO DAY
Sunday June 6th, will be demo day. From 8:00a.m. – 2:30 p.m. divers can demo dive any product they are interested in. We have a PERFECT demo dive site. No currents, 100ft visibility and our “shallows” are 50 ft from the dock, acres of crystal clear 25 ft deep water.
GET DIVERS TALKING ABOUT YOUR COMPANY
After the event, participants posted their appreciation to the vendors that donated and talked about what they won. An additional 5,000 people read those posts. You can’t buy that kind of advertising

ADDITIONAL MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES
Winners are required to sign a marketing release, write a short testimonial about why they used their chips for your prize and take a picture with your donation/banner or poster. You can use these testimonials and pictures for your marketing campaigns.
EVENT DATES
The Treasure Hunt is Saturday June 5th 2010. We will host up to 170 divers, they will complete two dives and search for poker chips in 2 different areas during each dive. At the end of the day, we’ll host a BBQ, after dinner, we’ll start the auction. Divers will use their chips (no cash allowed) to bid on the donated prizes.
