All got my GEO 2.0 in today and so far it seems nice. I was hoping to use some 1/8th bungee cord in place of the wrist strap it comes with but the bungee cord is about twice the thickness of the strap holes which is kind of a bummer. Any ideas of how to ditch the current strap which uses one of those extender things. It's not that big of a deal but I would have prefer the bungee instead. Thanks!

Yoyo,

I am also looking for a replacement for my geo wrist strap. I was going to try smaller diameter bungee. I have some thinner bungee I can try tomorrow and let you know how it works. I also seem to recall threads using nato style straps.

Never thought of nato straps. Let me know how the smaller bungee goes. If it works...please let me know exactly what you ordered! Thanks!

I would suggest you try diving with the computer before you monkey with it. There is some stretch in the strap, so if you get it very tight at surface it will not move at depth.

The only one I see on the link you provided which says "some oceanic models" is the compass one. I'm not seeing one that says some oceanic models for dive computers. I see specific ones for the veo

No terrible concerned with it moving as much as I just don't like having the 2 buckles. Again it's not a huge issue and I'm sure I'll get used to it I was just hoping to be able to use bungee cord somehow with it.

Go with a NATO strap. Don't have any pictures of mine, but I have been using NATO straps and would not use anything else.

It's the only strap I know of that will prevent the loss of the watch/computer in the event of a strap lug breaking. It's attached at two points, so a single strap lug breaking will not end up with you searching for your computer.

Try using surgical tubing. It thins more than bungee to get through small holes, has more stretch, and is plenty strong.

What exactly is this Nato strap some of you are suggesting? Google gives me some examples that look like watch bands.

I replaced my Versa Pro wrist strap a few years back, not sure but not many, when I saw cracks forming in the boot. The newer one has seen very little exposure, but a strap broke while I was handling it - on the boat fortunately. I have no patience left for the Versa Pro boot & strap.

Ok, so you clarified that the "some Oceanic models" mount is for compasses. I see a mount for a Versa Pro. https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?product=1334

So the computer will snap in easily, then I use bungee thru the holes, and tie secure knots in 2 loops? I suppose that's obvious, but I often miss the obvious.

Wonder why the manufacture doesn't suggest such?
