Really folks, there was no way I was not going to give a yell out for my LSU Tigers. For the USC fans out there, I'm sorry your team was not given it's right to play LSU for the National Championship. Oklahoma has no right taking your team's place in New Orleans. Although it didn't matter which team went(USC or OKLA), LSU would certainly beat either one,so the point is really mute. Anyway, I just wanted to send a little love out to the OU fans...it's the least I can do. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!

I don't think I'd quite open that trophy case just yet. I have a feeling OU is going to go into the game with a BIG chip on its shoulder, knowing that no one believes they (the Sooners) should be there (which they really shouldn't, but that's as may be). I think LSU will give the Sooners a good game for awhile, but toward the end, OU will begin to take over and claim the national championship afterall.

Yes, I did say that Oklahoma will be taking home the national championship, and I'd be happy to tell you why. The mouse (USC) sees the cheese (national championship) and wants very much to take it and eat it up. Trouble is, the cheese is situated within a BIG mousetrap (MICHIGAN), which is spring-loaded and just waiting to be released. The poor, unsuspecting mouse (USC) has no idea what's about to happen to it, but, rest assured, it's about to find out...

USC is ranked #1 in both polls. They're the # 1 team in the nation. period

If the #1 team wins their bowl game then they're the national champs. period

If USC loses then the winner of the OK vs. LSU game is the champion. period

I don't even like USC (I'm a Bruin) but the truth is the truth

Now you homers can argue all you want but in your heart you I know speak the truth

This part can be argued but I think OK being blown out in they're last game by K State says alot about OK being completely over rated

I picked UCLA to beat Fresno State, and they end up losing. What's up with that??
 
So was USC's loss to an unranked team completely forgotten? Why is a team penalized for startng out well? If you lose at the beginning of the seaon, isn't that still a loss? Or do losses only count near the end of the season? If so, then let's make the first 5 games of every year the preseason and not count them when determining a national champion.

Let's look at the records vs top ten teams (according to Sagarin ratings):

LSU: 2-0 - deserve Nat'l Champ shot.
OU: 1-1 - questionable
USC: 0-0 - hmm, they didn't have much of a schedule, did they?

Against the other top 30 teams (11-30):

LSU: 3-1 - I guess they stumbled against UF, but still a solid season against a good schedule of opponents.
OU: 2-0 - solid against the near top level teams
USC: 2-1 - much softer schedule and they still lost a game to a lower ranked in-state rival.

Hmmm, yes, USC is definitely the best team! :whatever: (At least when you remove the objectiveness of computers and let poeple VOTE!)

Again, USC is #1 in the polls. (You know, where people use their subjective judgements, much like the subjective judgement that OJ was innocent.) According to the polls you're apparently allowed to play like crap at the beginning of the season but not near the end even if the team who loses near the end has a much more difficult schedule.

Note to Athletic Director: Play a pansy schedule in a weak conference and lose to a rival, then whine about being left out.

Just looked at the strength of schedule: Where the heck does that come from? USC plays no top ten teams, 3 total top 30 teams, and has a tougher schedule than LSU with 2 top ten and 6 total top 30 opponents?!

I guess Sagarin inflates the value the middle so playing the 30th ranked team vs the 45th ranked is more important than playing the 5th ranked team vs the 20th ranked team. Oh well, no system is perfect.

Mofo, you only speak from your heart,as you OBVIOUSLY don't know your facts. At least do a little bit of research before you shoot from the cuff.Fact: LSU National Champs 1958.....and,just to educate you,UCLA ZERO football championships(and this is according to their own website http://uclabruins.ocsn.com/trads/ucla-championships.html . Fact: IN 1998 USC AGREED to the current BSC computer system....it sucks but they agreed to it. Now it's come back to bite them and they don't like it....typical California.Hey, maybe y'all can recall the system. OKLA or USC,doesn't matter,LSU is supposed to be there. FACT: LSU #2BSC,#2AP,#2Coaches Poll. Sorry,mofo,you won't get sympathy from me.Stop jumping on the band wagon of another team just because your team sucks. That loss to Fresno High School must have really hurt. Happy New Year!!

I would tend to agree with you if Michigan gets their running game hitting on all cylinders ... they are tough to beat. However, and as usual, their pass protection can be suspect and i assume USC still loves the pass???? Lets hope they don't give USC's QB enough time to pick em apart.

mardigrasbajaok - you were as expected mistaken, the list you mention refers to NCAA titles. Div 1 NCAA doesn't award a football championship, hence the BCS. Please refer to the above link.

See what I mean about you homers. LSU has made a nice run but you might want to finish the beer in your hand before you start yelling you need another one. No matter how many beads you give to the drunks NO ONE thinks LSU is the best team in the nation.

UCLA hired a young black coach to satisfy the alumni but he SUCKS! Doral was a total PC hire and is cutting his head coaching teeth on our fooball program. I really hate the idiot. Losing to Fresno State should get you fired but he won't be.

Doral is in over his head and the sooner he's fired the better.

Wonder what that Spurrier guy is up to lately?

Spurrier learned the hard way that a college offensive system doesn't work in the NFL and in a year or two Doral was realise that an NFL offensive system doesn't work in college.

Mofo,try your best to stick with the current subject of football. You'd think UCLA would list their national championship on THEIR OWN website. Seems you're still incorrect. Before the BCS, the AP poll was the standard for the national championships....uh....nope, no UCLA championship. And,com'on Mofo,UCLA has NEVER paid it's athletes??????
