okay i have a huge question. How dry should the inside of the bladder be? I really really really dont want to mess this part up. thanks :)
You just drain it out the best you can, inflate it up and stick it someplace warm. You can also remove the dump valve and let it air dry.

Inside? Dry? Why? I don’t bother with drying the inside of my bladder. I rinse it with freshwater inside after each dive weekend and that’s it.

I doubt the inside of any of my wings is ever 100% dry

May your wings be forever wet in all health, happiness and prosperity Insha Allah !!

Overall, not a huge concern. Occasional cleaning with a suitable solution. I will use BC cleaner/conditioner. Probably cheaper options available, but the BC conditioner is not a huge expense.

No matter what you do, you won't get it completely dry. Many divers inflate the BC some to make sure it doesn't stick together. I just drain as much as possible. I leave it outside for a bit to dry the outside and allow the water to accumulate near the kidney dumps, then dump those before putting away. My inflator is easily removed from the corrugated hose, so I unscrew it and store with my regulators. This allows the inside of the BC bladder to breathe a bit.

Do as @BoltSnap suggests. Dive often to prevent storage related problems.

I rinse the "hard" items with fresh water, soaking my regs while pressurized. I got a 6 cuft tank at a garage sale that works great.

The soft items, such as wing and neoprene, especially boots, get a soaking in an enzyme cleaner like sink the stink. A good soaking with some agitation. Then air dry in the garage and that is where it is stored.

All of you have left a very important aspect of proper gear cleaning.

After unloading all of your gear on the patio (by the pool if you have one), immediately (and this is important) get yourself your favorite adult beverage. I actually prefer an ice cold Corona, with a lime slice, to sip on while going about my duties, but I have been known to dip into the tequila bottle or a nice rhum and coke, all is acceptable. Also, dont forget a nice snack, chips, nut mix, deli meats or a more elaborate knosh. Point is, make the gear cleaning ritual as enjoyable as the dive(s) themselves. :)

Also, after rinsing your bc bladder make sure to drain the bladder completely then hook up the lp hose and inflate. That puts super dry air in the bc while also completely clearing out any water residue in the power inflator.

Does the beer help with rinsing the bladder?

Very good point. I definitely make this a point. There are times during the rinsing process where things need to soak. That's where I'll make sure to grab a cold beer. After all, it's important to allow enough time in the soaking process.

If my crew is working hard cleaning the boat, I'll even offer them one as well, the adults, that is.

Just to clarify, you mean BC bladder. The other bladder may need to be drained as well, but please don't hook up the LP hose to that one.

.....or a nice rhum and coke.....
Oddly specific, but I can tell you're a man of distinction and class......who, based on the spelling of "rhum", has also probably spent some time on Martinique. LOL. Cheers! :drunks:
