I went diving in February to Maui. This was my first use of my new gear. I am leaving in mid August for another dive trip. Should I get any thing looked at since it has been sitting for 6 months? Is there anything i should be doing to my gear myself?
any info is appreciated.

clean and rinsed with freshwater. Then store in a cool dry place once it is thoroughly dry. I would make arrangemnets to do a local dive or a pool dive to check everything out and inspect for any air leaks before you make the trip.

keep it clean with fresh water and do a dive in a pool before you head for your trip.

One guy in my Master Diver class thought he just has to rinse the inside of the BC 1x/yr. Nope; it's after every dive.
