Gear Rental Suggestions...

Hey,

So we'll be staying at the Plantation Village doing our diving with DiveTech. Their rental prices seem a bit steep for BCD $12 aday, Reg $12 aday, tank $12 aday - yikes! Is this the standard rental fees in the Caymans? We have to use DiveTech to dive, but is it possible to rent the gear somewhere more affordable?

You might get it for a little less elsewhere, but not much less. If you do any significant amount of diving, it really pays to buy your gear.

We dive once or twice a year, so no, buying our own gear isn't that practical or cost effective. Sounds like you live in the Caymans...

That is a little steep. Doesn't anyone have a "package" deal? Check around but if you are diving with a certain dive op then you need to use what they have. See if you can make a deal with them especially if you are going to be doing a few dives and they know it.

Sounds a bit cheaper than some places here. You might want to see if a local dive shop at home will cut you a weekly rate on a BCD and reg.
