Most charter boats (that I know) in the ST Petersburg/Tampa area have raised there prices from $65 a two tank dive to $95, stating cost of gas. $30 pp seems out of line (to me) with the cost of gas increase.

Going up a buck a gallon seems out of line to me but we're all paying it aren't we.

AND COMPLAINING about it long and loud. Is it not enough WE also pay the $1 a gallon with out someone else jumping in to gouge us as well?. I understand they have to increase the cost but $30 PP seems a little steep. 10 divers on a boat all paying $30 extra = $300

Ouch!! That sounds REALLY steep. I am going to dive WPB in December and just spoke with a local operation that said that they are getting ready to increase their prices, but said it would only be $5-$10 per person. I think $5-$10 is reasonable, but definitely NOT $30.

Who did you call? SeaFox does it for $95 now but that is all the way out to Blackthorne and the Sheridan and it is a three tank dive. Tanks-a-Lot is much cheaper at $65 for reefs and leges. Narcosis is $85 but that includes tanks, drinks, and snacks.

Well, at $65 at the old price, I'd say that was a steal to begin with. Sounds to me like they haven't raised their prices for a long time. I would guess $85 is more of the average so just think of how much you've saved paying only $65 all this time.

It was my LDS that told me they had ALL gone to $95 (I put them straight).
I will not use T-a-L (personal) and my LDS will not recommend them.

I am not to sure about the boat business but at the Flying Club I work at our prices fluctuate weekly depending on the fuel situation. we have a base price, and then a fuel surcharge. Our customers see exactly how much they have to pay for the rising gas prices and the Club doesn't profit from it Exxon does, those crooks!

Most of the ones on the FL panhandle went up to $65-$70 (4 hour inshore trip) last year. This year they'e mostly gove up to $75-$80 with gas increases.

Seems like they want to make all their money back off one person. If there is more on a boat then it's that much more profit. I'm all for any business making a profit, else they couldn't stay in business, but it is a little much.
