Has anyone had any experiences with the Garrett Sea Hunter XL-500 or the Mark II underwater metal detectors?

Garrett advertises that Mel Fisher used this model as part of his gear selection diving for artifacts.

I am considering purchasing one for diving for some fun.

Anyone have any comments on them - good OR bad?
