once you have the ir connection, open dive computer settings, make the changes you want, then click the write icon in the upper left corner of the window

Nope that did not work still blank

the IR connects

then i go to the smarttek software and click on options>program options>program details then update my info hit ok ok
then i get that button you told me to transfers upload to my GAL and when i check the unit still blank information on the owners screen on the gal sol

When I do mine I just update on the PC and then click the upload and it sends it. With my cheapie IR dongle I have to have the Luna almost touching the dongle or it will not transfer correctly.

I have a pretty cheap and old sigma-tel IR that worked fine. And I too had to have it right next to the SOL. I blame the SOL for this as my old PDA hits it from across the room.

Have you checked the settings for the IR in control panel? If Win7, then in Control Panel select Infrared. Make sure all boxes are checked under "Infrared". Then under "Image Transfer" - again both boxes checked. Now to hardware-make sure the proper device is listed, in my case Sigma Tel USB IrDA Dongle. If yours is listed incorrectly or generic, look for some drivers for you IR device. Select properties from the hardware page, then "Change Settings" on the properties page. Under "Advanced" - look for the value to be the correct device you have - you can experiment here to see if you can get a better result with a similar device. Select "Speed Enable" from the "Property" box, try selecting a slower speed such as 57600. That may help if their are communication errors - slower usually equals more reliable.

i have found that i can get the icon on my luna that shows its connected and it still isnt connected, like was said mine almost touches the ir reader. if you click the icon for "open dive computer settings it will tell you if it is really connected. and shows all your setting, sn etc.
