I just moved to Libya for work, and my belongings are being shipped over in a container.

In this container are my strobes, housing and all the other bits and bobs for my camera to go underwater. The problem is that it will not get here before I leave to go to Galapagos at the end of the month.

So here's my cry for help...

If anyone reading this is on the same trip, is there any chance you could get your hands on something like a Canon G9 with Canon housing and bring it with you?

I am only too happy to pay for excess baggage, cost, etc., etc., and many, many beers for any kind soul who can help me, I just can't face the idea of heading off to GALAPAGOS with out an underwater camera!

If you help me, I will love you forever.

I wish I could help. We were on the Aggressor in January. I seem to recall that they actually had some camera's for rent. You might call them directly. Another thought is that you could figure out how to buy one online and have it shipped directly to Ecuador to meet you. Again, I would suggest that you call the Aggressor folks directly. They were unbelievably helpful on our trip and it was amazing.

Separate plug, check my link below for video of our Aggressor trip.

Thanks for that, I'll keep trying to get myself some stuff, but in the meantime I'll get in touch with them.

I would like help you with a housing and camera for your Galapagos trip. If you were coming through Miami and had some time before flight we could meet you there with a housing and camera system, you would then have to come back thorugh Miami or send the system back after the trip. Based on the week it might also be possible to give the system to the operations manager for Galapagos so he could bring to to the US. His name is Peter Witmer and he is coming to the US on Oct 18th so this can work.
Regards,
Wayne Hasson, President Aggressor Fleet

Wow, if Wayne Hasson is offering to help you, you can't do better than that!

Regarding the suggestion to buy something and have it shipped to Ecuador, DON'T DO IT! My husband is Ecuadorian, and I can't stress enough to you how VERY likely it is that it will get pilfered by someone along the way and you'll never see it. See if you can work out something with Wayne or the Aggressor crew.
