I happened to notice today an article in The Sunday Times by Nick Hanna about diving in the Galapagos. There is a website at:

which I haven't had time to check to see if it's there on-line. If it isn't, I can scan and send it to anyone who's interested. There are some useful links, too, for liveaboard specialists.

Do you happen to have a copy of the article electronically (scanned)? I am very interested if you have it handy.

My wife wants to go to the Galapagos very bad. I'm a warm water diver with under 100 dives. Do you know anything about the difficulty?

Laine - thanks - no plans to go yet, just dreaming for now... but your plans sound like what I want to do - do let us know how it goes when you get back!

Yes, if someone has that UK times article and could post it that would be great - the Sunday Times has locked me out....

I'm planning a 10 day expedition late in October. I would like to hear some feedback on the diving conditions. Water temp, currents, vis, and any recomendations. I know the wildlife there is going to be spectacular. I just want to be prepared so I can enjoy the sea lions and hammer heads!!

thanks

This has been our goal all along! We were reptile lovers before we were scuba nuts, & the call of the marine iguanas drew us into the ocean. I understand that the iguanas are just near the rocks, somewhere I know better than to loiter with 23lb of lead & a tank on me, so I presume they are for the snorkelling part of our trip. The whale sharks are my husband's passion. Thanks to all who provided links. Keep all the info coming. You can't scare us away with tales of heavy surge & cold; you'll just drive us to practice more off the coast of California!:snorkel: :snorkel:
