After having placed the video synopsis with some of the images from our expedition to Galapagos, many friends asked me to put the full video of our expedition here in youtube.

By limiting the time of the videos, we put the complete video of the expedition in GALAPAGOS VIDEO 1 / 3 - GALAPAGOS VIDEO 2 / 3 and Galapagos VIDEO 3 / 3.

I'd like to share the videos of our trip:

The trip, with fifteen divers, went to one of the best, if not the best place for diving on the planet: Galapagos!

Galapagos, or better, the archipelago of Galapagos - or Colon’s islands - is located about one thousand kilometers from the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean and consists of approximately 58 islands of volcanic origin, with only four of these islands are inhabited.

The population of Galapagos is approximately 30 thousand inhabitants and the archipelago receives 170 thousand tourists per year.
The island Isabela (shape of a sea horse) has five volcanoes up to 1690 meters in height, some have become active during the 20th century.

The archipelago shows a high biodiversity and is the habitat of many endemic species such as turtles of Galapagos.
The islands are a wildlife reserve that is managed by the government of Ecuador and that is, since the visit of Charles Darwin, the main living laboratory of biology of the world. The process of evolution, the climate, sea currents and a lack of enemies on predatory mainly man made this archipelago one of the most rare and important places and points of embeddings of our planet.

UNESCO declared the Galapagos Islands Natural Heritage of Humanity. Galapagos has an amazing marine life and certainly part of the dream of using any diver. The entire archipelago, an area of 727 hectares, is marine national park and the best way to know the region is on a live aboard, enabling the best diving such as Wolf and Darwin Islands .

And it was in Deep Blue, a great vessel of 106 feet, 09 double cabins with private bathrooms and hot water, 02 Cummins engines 12V/71, 02 generators ONAN 75 KW, 02 Zodiac boats for 12 people each, GPS (Global Positioning System), air conditioning, complete structure for diving and a wonderful team of 8 crew members, who hold the dream of 10 out of 10 divers: Diving in Galapagos.

After flying from Sao Paulo to Quito, with stop in Lima, come to San Cristoban for our expedition:

Monday 20/07 - Arrival in San Cristoban. Boarded in Deep Blue and we prepare our diving equipment and installed in our cabins. We made a ckeck-dive in Isla Lobos, in the presence of marine iguanas, sea lions and lots of life. Hit all the dive gear.

Tuesday 21/07 - Diving in North Seymore with many sharks, rays and turtles.

Wednesday 22/07 - Diving at Wolf. Show of a school of rays, sharks, dolphins.

Thursday 23/07 - Friday 24/07 Diving in Darwin. In all eight dives were conducted in the presence of hammerheads sharks, dolphins, turtles and whale-sharks.

Saturday 25/07 - Diving in Cape Marshall, with a huge school of rays, huge schools of fish and turtles.

Sunday 26/07 - Diving in Roca Cousins with sea lions, sea horses and school of rays. Visit on land at Sullivan Bay and the “panga” ride to snorkel in Bartolomé with penguins and sea lions.

Monday 27/07- Visit to Galapaguera Cerro Colorado a center of research and breeding of Galapagos tortoises.

A great tip for diving in Galapagos is the diver be prepared to face strong currents, so it is mandatory to use dive alerts and surface marker tube for the case of someone losing the group. Being with a good physical conditioning is required to “ride” a lot in every dive, especially in diving in Darwin, where the meeting with whale sharks. Be advanced diver and has experience with sea currents is critical to the recovery of total dives and avoid unnecessary accidents.

Cheers,
Adair
