My wife and I visited the Galapagos in 2006 and are considering a return with the kids. I did not dive the last time we went :(. Wondering if there are any boats that are good for a mix of divers and non-divers. I’m the only diver in the family but would try to get the older one certified first if we went.

FWIW, I’m Tec50 with about 150 dives.

Hi @BabyLitigator

I went on the Galapagos Aggressor III in 2018. There was a man and his wife on the trip, the wife did not dive. She seemed to have a good time, not sure what she did while we were diving other than relaxing and reading. There were only 2 land excursions, a hike to the summit of Bartolome and visit to the Galapagos Giant Tortoise Preserve and lava caves on Santa Cruz at the end of the trip. A Galapagos liveaboard would be an expensive trip with limited activities for a non-diver.

Thanks. Oh well. The youngest also has a crippling fear of birds which may end up putting a kibosh on the trip anyway.

You would be better off doing land based diving followed by a naturalist live-a-board, which does both land based tours and well as snorkeling. On our naturalist trip a family with kids seemed to have a fun time. The birds both Albatros and Boobies are quite abundant, often enjoying a perch on the bow of the boat.
