Had a few chances to test out my new Fisheye FIX G10 housing dual lens macro adaptor. Overall its a pretty nice lens and very convenient. Two flip down 2x magnifiers allow for pretty good options underwater. As with all magnifiers, when using both lenses stacked, your depth of field is almost nothing - with the camera zoomed full at f7.1 I would say 1/4 inch or so (totally not scientific!). So getting the focus exactly where you want it is a bit of a challenge and the best results were with setting the zoom and using manual focus at a preset length and rocking back and forth till your focus is where you want - autofocus is almost not possible unless your only at half zoom or your focus distance is set to be further away.

Certainly need more practice with this rig with the focus, but here are some examples so far. Some of these are with 1x lens, some with 2x lens, some cropped and all from half to full zoom on the camera.

Some really great shots you got there Chris. I especially enjoyed the detail on your gobi shots. I shoot with the G10 as well and am mainly focused in macro photography. What lens are you currently shoot with? Any pics of your macro adapter and lens?

Love those nudis!! I just bought the G10 and the Inon S-2000... have ordered the subsee super macro and am just waiting for Keri to start shipping them... should be ready the end of September.

Am heading to Fiji the first week in October but think I may wind up just bringing the camera so I can get used to working with it and the internal flash... best way to get the feel of a new rig.

Then, will bring the rest of the gear with me to Lembeh in December. Figure the learning curve of working the strobe and subsee should be about 4 - 5 dives. :eyebrow:

Thanks Frank, its the Fisheye FIX Dual Macro lens. It slides on the standard port for the Fisheye FIX G10 housing.

Coralcruiser, those sound like some great trips you have for the rest of the year! Look forward to seeing some photos! I want to see what that Subsee can do, should work great.
