I have 2 G-Shocks as dive watches.
A DW6600 with hydro modification ( basically filled with clear mineral oil), and fitted with a 24 mm MARATAC band on my diveboard. This model is great because it has a very bright EL under water, ideal as a divertimer and fitted with the count-up timer to keep you aware of your diveplan.
I also wear a GW 6900 DIY Hydro mod as an EDC with a 24 mm maratac strap. This model is Tough solar, so no battery changes and is synchronised by an atomic clock.
Both watches have been tested to 100 Bar for leaks and survived the test.
I also have a Mares Puck and a Mares nemo on my wrist when diving.

please tell me about g-shock as a divers' watch...

been using them exclusively for diving since about '88 or so, started out with a G-shock then went to this(see below link) over 12 years ago probably...have well over 1000 dives on different ones----I now just buy one evey year or so & don't ever worry about changing a battery or band---kinda use them as a disposable watch...--You Do NOT need the G-shiock part of it to be a great diving watch

Amazon.com: Casio Men's DW290-1V Classic Alarm Chronograph Shock Resistant Sport Watch: Casio: Watches

G-Shock - Works good, lasts a long time, and inexpensive. What more could you ask for? Put it on a velcro band with a elastic piece that is used for the watch pins. That way if you lose a pin, you won't lose the watch. If this is already in the thread, I apologise. I did not read the whole thing.

If analog is more your thing, try this Casio Casio Men's Sea Analog Dive Watch - Black : Target

My Citizen (non-diver) is in for service and I had read in another thread about this in-expensive watch. Have been very pleased so far. Band issues that were discussed previously by some seem to have been resolved......mine feels pretty soft. Picked it up locally for about $52.

Just my .02

I use the Casio G-shock Solar Atomic Watch.

Taken from the users manual:

Only a watch with a rating of 200m or 300m is suitable for use on SCUBA. Among the stated reasons are while the watch may hold up against the static pressure of depth, the dynamic pressure caused by the movement through the water may be greatly in excess of the rating. It also expressly states that you should not operate buttons underwater of any watch with less than this rating.

Have you ever operate the buttons on your watch under water? Did they work?

You can't go wrong with Casio. I have a collection of them. They are really inexpensive here and work great. I put a waterbourne strap on the one I use with a wetsuit.
