I would like to shot stils and video with my G-9 Canon (I use Canon housing). What kind of lights would yoou recomend. I presume that I will nead two different lights, one strobe light(for stils) and one continuouslly working tight(for video). What brand will be my best option? Thank you.

The Fantasea 44LED light "connected to arm via S&S adapter" works great as a focus light as well as a low power video light. As far as strobes, the clear favorite on these boards seem to be INON's line. I personally use Ikelite strobes with my Ikelite G10 housing but their features are far behind INON's offerings.

I like the Inon strobes (but happen to have Y110's) for size and power. For video, suggest first learning to use manual white balance, but if you want to add a bit of red, then the big blue works pretty well (they make a bunch of models, but the ones with the wide angle, that come with the attachment ball are the ones to consider).

Welcome to Scubaboard.
Here is a link that compares some of the focus lights that FrankPro1 was speaking about.

Some are OK for video.
I use a G9 for video without lights. I use a red filter and get decent results. This link shows one example - Turks & Caicos Video
I do have an Ikelite housing and use a wide angle wet lens that I can attach the red filter too. You may need to find a way to do that. For me the results are better than just trying to white balance.

For strobes, I use Ikelite, but their best value is when matched with an Ikelite housing that provides TTL for them.

What type of strobe you need will depend on what type of photos you will take. If you want to take pictures of fish close up, then almost any strobe will do fine (2 will usually be better). If you want to take pictures of wrecks and other wide angle subjects, I think you will need the higher quality ones like Ikelite, Inon or Sea & Sea and you may need 2.
Your strobes can go with you through several camera and housing changes if you make the right decisions. It's good that you are doing some research.
These sites will be helpful as well.
