Hello,
On the bullentin board at the dive shop, there was a note that a number of customers had their dive computers taken apart when packed in luggage by TSA... I would guess a console?

I usually carry on mine.

I just come back from Florida and carried my regulators and computer (Uwatec) with me in the plane. They did take them separately for inspection but nothing dismantled - if it is what you meant. Very smooth. On the way back they did not even look at my regulators... true to say I forgot to put my Leatherman back in my checked luggage I suddenly looked like the worst terrorist on this planet...

I would not worry too much.
