So todays dives are done. Also my dive buddy's birthday he is 50 years young. I promised him a good day out. Started well a Great Hammerhead Shark on the first dive, the second dive we had a really lovely wreck dive. On the wreck dive a bat fish decided it would be my buddy and stayed by my side even after we left the wreck for open ocen to do the safety stop it tagged along. Our guide said he had never seen anything like it before.

Last dive we went to what is called the Fish Tank. They should change the name to the Moray Tank must have seen over 15 different morays and at one location 6 were under a metal platform.

Again we had the same boat but only myself my buddy and the guide plus a boat driver and one other crew member. Fore sure we will dive with Raajje Divers in Male again. Only 12 dives but we would do more. Same guide for all the dives and he said he didn't have to guide us just come along and enjoy the dives.

So great vacation, for sure highlly recommend both dive operators for our trip.

Male was great as we came off peak season. Only myself and buddy on the boat for most of our dives

On page 2 .... Fuvahmulah Scuba Club. Yeah we were very happy with them. Basically had two guides for the 12 diving days and they are pretty relaxed with customers and some good banter on the boat.
Also you are told, the law is 30m max depth anything you do deeper than that is on you. If you go into deco that is on you. Several of the dives we did short deco times at depth. Mostly I avoided deco if I could.

I was at 43m depth when I took this video... only a few minutes of deco time. Still did a one hour dive and I never finished a dive with less than 50 bar.

OK So now back home. Very pleased with this long stay trip. Lot's of great diving

So in Male stayed at Sunny Canopy which is a one minute walk to a nice beach. Bring booties as there are sharp rocky outcrops in the ocean there. The hotel rooms were good and basic breakfast had a cheese omelete everyday some cereal toast and coffee. My flight was at 11:30pm so I paid US$50 for longer stay. They charge US$10 an hour. Check out is 12pm but they gave us till 2pm and I stayed till 7pm then went to airport.

This trip I flew Singapore airliines economy class Singapore to Maldives and China Airlines Business class from Taiwan to Singapore. This was actually a great way to do the trip. On my flight from Male to Singapore I got a row to myself. Then as flying business class used the loinge to shower and rest.

China Airlines business class is excellent and I pre ordered a steak with mash which was actually better then I thought it would be.

Diving at Shark Tank. OK for sure to see lots of critters everyday. We met a diver who complained they went there and did a dive and did not see any sharks. This can happen. On the dive I got the Great Hammerhead we saw no other sharks and we were near the end of our dive time. Do the Shark Tank on Nitrox as a lot of what goes on is at around 30 - 35m depth.

The wreck dive Raajje Divers only take more experienced fast current divers there as divers have been swept away from the wreck. Once you are on the wreck your fine but getting to and from the wreck there are strong currents. I had a crazy bat fish decide to be my buddy and follow me around for the whole dive.
