I have a Fusion Tech with 210 dives in the Puget Sound area so I'm diving with plate and harness, singles and doubles. I'm curious how many dives folks are getting out of the skin before replacement? Mine is showing some wear in the back where the bottom of the plate rides, as well as where the crotch strap wears, and generally looking a bit ratty. Other than a couple minor leaks around the ankle/ leg seam, the inner core seems to be holding up really well, as are the SiTec seals.
 
I get a couple hundred dives out of the tech, more with the bullet. I used to use it in the pool but that ate them up sooner.
 
You mention the wear from the backplate, would this contoured backplate help reduce abrasion? The edges are rolled gentlyvaway from body:
