S.T.O.P. (Sea Turtle Oversight Protection) is a local organization with a permit to help protect and assist nesting sea turtle mommies, and later their hatchlings. A few of my friends are involved, and walk the beaches for S.T.O.P., and I went to their training today and will start walking the beach tomorrow night.

The St. Lawrence Gallery in Fort Lauderdale is having a fundraiser for S.T.O.P. this Friday night, May 21 from 6-8 p.m. map here. My good friend Sandra Camper, artist, dive instructor, and sea turtle rescue volunteer has donated one of her mixed media paintings to the fundraiser. Her art is fabulous so you'll want to purchase raffle tickets and cross fingers and fins that you win!

It's free to attend but you know you'll want to purchase raffle tickets to help the cause. In addition, St. Lawrence Gallery has many cool things to purchase beginning at incredibly affordable prices. Hey, just come on out and meet the volunteers of S.T.O.P. As I learned today, the work they do is INCREDIBLE and they are saving thousands of baby sea turtles every year.
