*****FUND RAISER FOR JIM****
Dear friends,
As some of you know our beloved Hockey Nut, Jim Mechelke was
in a major accident at work in the beginning of October. They were putting a crane together and the boom fell on top of him. Among his injuries were 2 broken legs, lacerated liver, bruised pancreas,broken ribs and most concerning, a lumbar burst fracture. This is where his spine attaches to his
pelvis.
To date Jim has h
ad 3 surgeries on his legs and has had surgery to fuse his spine to his pelvis. He is out of ICU but has an extremely long road ahead of him. First and foremost Jim’s health is of our utmost concern. Hopefully he will be leaving the hospital in the next 3 weeks and going home. However when he does go home he will not be able to put any weight on his legs or back for a minimum of 2-3 months and then will have to go through months and months of excruciating physical therapy.
With that said, it is too early to know when Jim will be able to return to work if at all. Along with Jim, His wife Cheryl and teenage children will be facing financial hardships. We all know that financial stress will make it that much harder for them to concentrate on Jim’s recovery.
We all know that when anyone gets sick or is injured, it not only takes a physical and emotional toll but a financial one as well.
I am asking all of Jim’s friends and family to help him and his family get through this extremely difficult time by making a monetary donation. Together we can raise the funds to help Jim and Cheryl and their children. If you wish to donate please see the instructions listed below. Remember no amount is too small(or too big )
