We dove with Fun Baja for a day out at Los Islotes off of Espiritu Island. The boat was comfortable and fast and it took about 1 hour to get out to Los Islotes from La Paz. The dive operator had oxygen and a first aid kit on the boat. Chabelo was our divemaster and he showed us some neat things underwater--such as a giant jawfish. The topography was interesting underwater and we were able to dive with the sealions--which was the highlight of the trip. They are so playful underwater! There were a total of 3 DM in the water during our dives, which proved to be helpful because one of the divers was having trouble and needed extra attention underwater. Ricardo, one of the DM, is also a trained marine biologist, which is a great asset to the company. Between the 2nd and 3rd dives we had lunch on Espiritu Santo--a gorgeous island with turquoise blue waters offshore. The lunch was delicious and fresh. The only thing that was troubling is that our DM Chabelo handled some of the underwater sealife, such as a scorpion fish (pulled its tail) and he also fed an urchin to a fish. We don't find these practices acceptable. However, overall we had a great experience and would dive with them again.
