Thinking of buying some full foot scuba pro twin jets. Will be using for pool, snorkeling, etc. Possibly some diving as well. Any feedback?

Thanks.

I like open heel fins with boots myself. If you ever do a rocky shore entry you will wish you were wearing good sole rock boots.

I just ordered the SP jet fins myself to wear with my boots.

I'd go with normal JetFins myself--work better and they're cheaper too.

Use full foot fins for snorkeling, open heel fins for diving so you can wear boots to protect your feet as stangscuba98a said. You're also pushing a lot of heavy gear through the water with (typically) smaller fins if you're using full foots. That's one reason why dive fins are usually larger than full foots.

There are lots of great full foots out there for snorkeling. Very highly rated include the Aeris Velocity Full Foot, a ScubaLab Tester's choice.

The Atmoic Aquatics Full Foot also got great reviews, but more expensive. (Velocity is $39.95 while Atomics run $89).

Here's the 2005 Scubalab review, if their site is working, they've been having problems:

If you are doing just warm water boat dives, full foot fins that are properly fitted and scuba appropiate can't be beat. Easier on and off, no bootie stink and better efficiency. However for all around use go open heel.

You'll see most divemaster in the carib using full foot, there is a reason (speaking as an ex Cayman Divemaster) Full foot isn't just for snorkeling but the use is limited compared to open heel.

I found open heels to be more comfy for me than full-foots, plus you have some boots to wear on the boat/beach too. I have Planos Avanti Quattros with spring straps, and I absolutely love them. Walking up a ladder with high-grip boots on instead of bare feet is nice. Also, it doesn't seem like a big deal, but with open heels you can hang them on your wrists as you climb that ladder. That way if you slip off and start drifting away in the current, just pop them back on and swim back to the boat. (I speak from experience on that one.)

They'll be fine in the pool, but if you venture outside in the North East you'll want to go with open heel-and 3-5 mm boots

I have to agree with rapidiver
I like to wear the full foot when i'm back home in Mexico, but for the NE, you need the open heel with your boots.

What size do you wear ?? If you haven't committed to the ScubaPros, I have a brand new pair (still in the bag) of Mares Volo Race fins that I'd sell you at a very reasonable price.

PM me if you're interested.

How is comfort with full foot? I worry about blisters. The twin jets sounded good because they said they are of softer plastic.

Thanks
