I'm a Fish!
Ok, so in the interest of full disclosure on this board…and my own personal integrity…I feel I must put this out there. Not because I care…not because I stand to make a profit…not for any of those reasons…but because there has been countless times where someone has supported a product on this board (and other boards I am certain) and someone else doesn't like that product for one reason or another and the one that doesn't like the product shoots back with a "you must work for or be related to the company in some way" and in most cases that isn't true.

In this case however, I support certain brands of products, not because I am a dealer or rep or anything for them but because I have done some good honest research and found they have produced a good product. I have also formed my opinion based on actually using a product or service prior to the formation of whatever opinion it was that has been formed….so my opinion = actual research + actual use….and not just "my friend has this cousin that said once" as it seems to be so prevalent in so many products….take the ford vs. Chevy debate….which one is better??? It doesn't really matter, it just comes down to personal preference in the long run…or maybe you like one over the other because your dad had one….or you may have never owned anything else….that being said, I challenge anyone who dislikes some products to do some honest research on them (from a reputable source….not just Joe blow's website). Don't just go off of what your buddy says, research the product….

Now for my disclosure….I has been using Cochran Computers now for about 5 years. Prior to buying my I researched it and found most of the same stuff that you had found….you knows the bikini thing etc…. But what I also found what that the computers that were being talked about in that blog weren't even current computers (yes, even is 2001) so it was outdated…not that some of those computers aren't still kickin around and not that some of them didn't have problems….but they are quite old…fast forward to today…now I have Many dives on my own personal Cochran Gemini Plus nitrox computer and have never had not one single issue with it…so I decided to check out and see if I could become a dealer for them. Not for the money…not for the fame…but because I believe in their product (prior mentioned 5 years of use) so now I am currently in the process of learning enough (wow…lots to take in) to become a good dealer/rep and not just some salesman. My goal is to not really supply the consumer but to supply the LDS, because that is where your service will come from….Right now I am talking about getting some portion of the Pacific Northwest….I will keep you guys posted in this thread about my areas ETC…if it all comes through.

I have also become a Dealer for "The Divers Platform" this is one great product here. You may have seen it in divers magazine. They are spendy, but very awesome….talk about comfort for new divers…something substantial to hang on to at the surface. Not just your average dive float…but an actual "Divers Tool".

Ok…now with all that being said, it is my intention to earn trust on this board, and I have to do that with my integrity.... As you can see I have been a member since about 2002 with very few posts….that is because I try to listen more than I talk...but if you have any questions about either, please ask, in open forum. Please don't use this thread to ask about buying or anything like that as this is the wrong area for sales….but all questions about either are welcome. I can't promise that I will have all the answers right now as I am still learning lots of stuff….but I will get your answer.

Thanks for being such a great resource of information.

A better idea might be to just stick something about being a Cochran dealer in your sig. Always good to know the context when reading someone's posts.

what's integrity?
