Surprised this wasnt posted here. I was wondering what was going on the other night with 3 helicopters circling overhead for hours.....
When I came into work today I noticed those yellow baffle things in the Chelsea creek that they use for oil spills and a nasty smell of oil in the air. Well I just did a search and sure enough....
I like the 'within normal range for the area' - a nice way of saying Chelsea always stinks???:11doh:
Just thought some might like to know.

REVERE (AP) -- Two days after 18,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into Revere's Chelsea Creek, clean-up operations continue.

The spill happened during a fuel transfer Wednesday between Irving Oil and Global Petroleum. Global sent the oil through a pipeline on which Irving was conducting maintenance.

Irving Oil says just over 12,000 gallons have been recovered so far, as crews work around the clock.

Air quality samples taken around a nearby elementary school in Chelsea were within the normal range for the area.
