Anybody planning on going in the early afternoon? Was thinking about heading up there for a dive if the weather is decent. Anyone have opinions about doing a dive at low tide? i wont be able to make the 8am high tide so the best I can do is the mid afternoon.

My tide chart shows high today at noon.

Are you sure you are looking at the right month? Saltwater tides has HT at about 8:13am and LT at 1:33pm at Beavertail Point and Ft. Wetheril can not be that far off.

I just looked at ME tides - yes in Maine High Tides are between 11 and noon...

Here is the link I used, and I also checked my phone which showed the same times. :)

I'm still researching this but many divers tell me low tides have the best vis at FTW. I did a dive there a couple of weeks ago that started 1 hr after the low slack and had 10-15' vis to about 30 FSW. So how was the dive(s)?

I just picked up some tanks with good fills. If anyone wants to dive in RI over the next 2 weeks contact me. I go back to work on the 29th.

Dives were good. Visibility was about 10 feet on both dives. Calm water, no other divers just 2 kayak's fishing. Water temp was 60 deg. Not much to comment on as far as marine life. 2 smaller Fluke, moon snails, juvenile fish, Blue Crab, lots of molted lobster claws, 2 corona cans (picked up and removed), some Jelly's. Nice leisure dive on a cloudy day.
