My girlfriend and I are going on a little vacation to Ft. Lauderdale at the end of September and I'm wondering if anybody could recommend a shop that can do her open water checkouts. She'll be going thru PADI. Thanks a ton.

Try Pro Dive. I dive with them all the time and they are one class act. They own there own 60 foot dive boat, the staff and crew are very professional and go out every day as long as the wether is nice.

i dive with paradise island scuba out of pompano they are a top quality operation i do not believe they can do the check outs themselves but i am sure that they can arrange it they are the best that i have dove wiht in south florida

Absolutely go with Pro Dive. They are a developmental center. She will get nothing less than the very best instructors there. Ask for their hotel recommendations. They can get you some really cheap rates at some of the local places.

Good luck

And they have a nice big cattle boat...... If you're going to do a cattle boat, you may as well go on a nice one like American Dream 2. Those Newton dive boats are nice (even if they're cattle boats).
