You have my condolences, please pass them along to your friend's family and coworkers. It sounds like she lead a very full life of service. We all should be as driven to leave that much of a mark on society and on other individuals in their time of need.

From what you describe, I'm sure she never suffered- most likely she never knew what happened to her. I hope you find some small amount of comfort in that- I'm at a loss for words to try to quell your grief.

I will sign off now with a simple reiteration of my earlier offer- if you need someone to talk to, someone to vent your frustrations to, do not hesitate to contact me. I'm here for you if you need me...

-Steve

PS Unfortunately, death makes us think of how much we need to appreciate our loved ones and friends and how much we need to let them know.

Man what a tough week this has been and it's only Wednesday.

tracker:
To your friend. Thank you for your contributions in this life. May your next life be as rewarding.

Well said, Tracker, well said.

Thanks again everyone.

Sandy actually met and spoke with the heart surgeon today that worked on Donna. He said he knew her for years and this was a very difficult time for him as well. We did learn from him that Donna had advanced heart disease, keep in mind she was only 43. The accident was most likely caused by her losing consciousness due to lack of oxygen, but the accident was not what ultimately took our friend. According to the surgeon, the heart disease progressed so far that she did not have a chance either way.
Because of her extremely busy work schedule she most likely ignored the symptoms, not thinking it was a health problem. There was nothing Sandy or I could have done to save her even if we were with her at the time she started having problems.
Sandy and I both feel better now that we have a first hand account of why our friend actually passed away. It is very difficult to accept this without knowing the facts.
Thanks again to everyone for your kind words and sympathy. Sandy and I both appreciate it.

Jason
