I posted this in the Sandeaters forum, so I hope nobody minds that I posted it here, also:

I am going to the Sandeaters dive Friday night at Vets Park. I will be driving down earlier in the day, from Ventura. Is anyone diving anywhere between Ventura and Palos Verdes on friday during the day?

I wouldn't mind getting a couple dives in before the night dive.

So, if you are planning something and don't mind someone else showing up, or if you want to just make plans for a dive or two, let me know.

Rick:

The Sandeaters' web site says Vet Park is Saturday Dec. 24 at 7 pm. I'm going to try to dive sometime near the weekend. Daytime on Friday won't work for me.

Hi Jim,

Here on the board, (sandeaters forum calender) we have a Friday night recon dive at Vets, also. Maybe you can join us then?

Rick:

I see it now. I'm on for Friday night, registered. What time is that dive? Sunset is 4:50 that day. Might be able to do a late PM dive with you as well, depending on schedule.

rick, I can join you on the dive on Friday. But the swells reports for this week looks pretty bad.
I'm hoping to dive Vet's early AM Friday, Rick, so I checked the conditions this afternoon (Tuesday 12/20) Water was pretty glassy, with about 18 inch waves breaking gently. It was a lovely afternoon. I'd have gone diving... if I'd had gear and a buddy :D .

If it's looking this calm tomorrow, I'm hoping to dive.... maybe with the DiveVets crew.

I'll be checking conditions again on Thursday afternoon.

My Friday plan is to meet early with a fellow provisional-fundies teammate and get in some practice while enjoying a dive or two. I'll PM you my cell #, so call me if you want reports during the week or on Friday. Or come on down and link up with us if you want to dive. Day dives can be less exciting than night dives, but the squid egg clusters are finally appearing. And the octopuses on the monument are always fun. We also saw a 6 1/2 to 7 inch long nudibranch there last week at night (Pleurobranchia californica... a monster!!)

Optimism rules!!!

We need to do the "look n decide" thing. It seems like the last couple dives I have done the surf report was for big swells. We went diving anyway. It hasn't been that bad. Maybe a little searching for the right spot, but we got some in. Friday is on!

Thanks for the offer of reports

What time are you meeting up, Friday?

I was thinking about Old Marineland in the morning.

Oh-OH! I want to go....Let me know now! So I can prepare to wake up early morning for Friday.!!

Anybody interested in lobster night diving Friday night - Island Time, Catalina? I left a message to check for availability. It's a lot cleaner than beach diving- there's a reason they call it "Sandeaters" you know.
