Fresh water springs in NC?

OK, Im outta luck info regarding Fresh water SPRINGS in North Carolina... Im stationed at Fort Bragg (Fayetteville) area at the moment, but im itching to get to some Spring water and dive... Can ANYONE Help me find some.... Thanks

Welcome to the board.
I am not aware of any springs like those in Fla but if a quarry will do, there are several. Rolesville (aka Fantasyl Lake) is about 30 minutes north of Raleigh.

First off, welcome to Scubaboard! Second, we have quite a few in our group that head down to North Florida to dive the springs if you interested in venturing further south. If not, a lot in the group also dive at the local quarries in NC. Fantasy Lake (a/k/a Rolesville Quarry) is closest to you and usually someone in our group is out there about every weekend. You're welcome to join us anytime. Just give us a shout in this forum. Fantasy Lake is a great quarry with lots of stuff in it to keep things interesting....plane, rock crusher, school bus, boats, etc..

Also, check out the Sticky at the top of this NC forum. There is a list of local quarries as well as coastal charters.
