I think burst will be 3x working pressure.

This is on a first stage that has not been recently rebuilt. The second is the only newly rebuilt thing on the set, everything else was rebuilt maybe a year or so ago. IP was just checked at the LDS a week before this dive trip as some pieces of gear were new to me and I wanted to make sure they worked--I was assured they did not freeflow, and the IP was somewhere around 140. I have the sheet that says, but I forgot to take it out of the BC pocket....so it got wet :) Unreadable now.

Hmm...this reg does not have a nice slotted piece like the Sherwood's I took apart recently. How do I adjust this? I'm a tad bit confused. When I open this, I see the seal that seats against a seperate part that I can unscrew, nd have taken off. It's inline with the hose, and has the edge taht the seal seals against. With that out of the way, there is a round metal thing that holds the seal, and there are metal things sticking out of it like a compass rose. Inside the second at the base of the lever is a nut and a screw. What do I turn? :)

I will have to look in Harlow's book this evening to see what I can find on the Conshelf but, from what you are describing, it sounds to me like that seperate part that you unscrewed and have taken out is the adjustable orifice. If you have been turning that without pressing the purge button, you may have cut the LP seat which may explain the current freeflow problem. I'll get back with you this evening.

the seperate piece that I took out has no adjustment thing either. That's why I took it out, I was trying to find the adjustment slot. I can find it on a Sherwood I have but not on this thing... And if I did just cut the LP seat, I didn't cut it before by doing anything like this, so this stil wouldn't explain the freeflow :)

OK. I found some documentation on the conshelf XIV. It is a single adjustment regulator with a fixed orifice. The orifice is inside the inlet housing which is probably the thing you took out. The required adjustment does not look difficult but it does call for some special tools. I'm sure you can work around the special tools if you see what they are trying to do. The document is a 1.1 mb pdf file. If you have an email address that will take an attachment that size, I can send the file to you. Probably best if you PM your email address to me.
