Hi,
first post on scubaboard: what freediving watch should I get??

I know this doesn't lead anywhere, so I'll try be more specific: I am an occasional freediver, nothing serious, I'd like just to have a piece of equipment that tells me how deep I go, and possibly that keeps track of the time I stay underwater and records a couple of logs.
The budget depends on whether I can use it for other purposes (sailing timer and compass for example) - in this case up to 200$ - or only for diving - say 100$max in this case.

I've read reviews, surfed the web, done the homeworks... but so far I only stumbled across ridiculously expensive computers (suunto, cressi, aeris,...) or apparently discontinued products (everyone refers to CASIO or SWATCH, but I cannot find them anywhere!!).

Any suggestion then?

I am buying a lot of two watches on ebay. Both Citizen dive watches. I want one in particular, but was going to sell the other to help pay for the one that i want. It is a digital HyperAqualand. The seller says that it is in great condition. "There are two pin size blemishes on the face. The cradle which interfaces with the computer is missing but one can be ordered from Citizen". Let me know if your interested. Ill tell you how much i would want when i win the auction. It may be cheap enough and do what you want it to.

The Citizen Hyper Aqualand has a Depth Display and Memory - Current and Maximum (to 260 feet) and a Water Temperature Display and Memory - Current and Minimum.

Dive Features:
Depth Display and Memory - Current and Maximum (to 260 feet)
Water Temperature Display and Memory - Current and Minimum
Dive Log Memory for up to 30 Dives
Dive Start, Finish and Elapsed-Time Memory (to 199 min.)
Depth and Water Temperature Log
Alarms for Ascent Rate, Low Battery, Display or Sensor Errors
Air Temperature Display While Above Water
Measures Elapsed Surface Time After Dive for Safety
Screw-Back Case
Water Resistant to 666 ft. (200 meters)
Operates on Battery Power

Try these.

Thanks, but these are not good as freediving watches.

The time is displayed in hh:mm, not seconds, which makes it completely useless. Plus, I read somewhere that they log only dives longer that 2min... I don't hold my breath that long!

Any other suggestion?

Try to find new old stock Timex Helio DM. You should be able to bid and win the auction on one at around $50-$60.

It will tell you time and depth. If you use it in Dive Crono mode it shows seconds I believe.

I think it could be useful if You read the thread I began few days ago. Look for: "DIVE WATCH & apnea". Bye Claudio
