PIZZO - Tragedy in the waters in front of the fishing village of
Pizzo where a diver, a man, father of a family, dies during a dive. The dramatic episode took place in the stretch of water near the train station.
His name was Giorgio Ceravolo, 58, and last night he had dived, without oxygen cylinders, to carry out underwater fishing activities. At one point, however, he probably never re-emerged due to an illness. The searches by those present were started, however, made very difficult by the lack of light.
DIES UNDER LACE, THE FINDING OF THE BODY
At one point it was the man's brother who noticed a silhouette in the sea, realizing that it was that of his brother. Immediately brought ashore, however, for the 58-year-old there was nothing to do as the 118 doctors arrived on the spot in the meantime, together with the harbor master's staff, found. The neighborhood was immediately crowded with people trying to find out what had happened and when he saw them dead bodies lying on the shore it was all clear.
Ceravolo was the father of a young man who had recently run for the town of Pizzo, as a councilor, on the list led by the current mayor Sergio Pititto.
