Stone crab claws are about the best seafood on the planet, and they taste even better when you bring them back and cook 'em up, as fresh as just a few hours before!

There are lots of places to get them around Tampa Bay and the season opens Thurs October 15th. Learn how to grab them and what you need to make the diving safe.

Saw a monster size stone crab today while out with Tanks-A-Lot today. Had to be 5 1/2". Was all I could do to refrain from taking him. He seriously had me :drooling:

Claws don't get a lot bigger than about 6" Miss D, so that must be a beast! (Measured across the bottom of the claw of course, not the knuckles.) Got it hidden until the 15th? I've got a bruiser I pickled years ago that I plan to bring, but will have to break out some super glue first.

I hope to see many SBer's Tues at the Clearwater Mac's store - ** Please call (727) 442-9931 for reservations** so we have some idea how many divers might show up.
