I just completed an SDI / TDI crossover with Bob’s assistance. Thanks Bob.
The crossover was streamlined, but by no means just an administrative process. I did have to do a significant amount of online training, a live session, and provide a lot of documentation. I was credited the amount that I needed to pay, so it was in essence a no cost process.
Not all of my certifications crossed over. The higher level certifications require a session with an instructor trainer. That was not unexpected. I will have to decide if that has a sufficient cost / benefit ratio.
just learning about what SDI / TDI was about and how it was different was enough to justify the time investment. SDI / TDI allows significant flexibility over some other agencies. It’s up to the instructor to make sure that this additional flexibility is handled appropriately.
