FREE Pinellas County Coral Reef lecture series

Thought you might be interested in the second of a series of lectures on reefs.

Last Tuesday we had Dr. Heyward Mathews giving a presentation at Mac's Sports, on Artificial Reefs in Pinellas County.
Dr. Mathews was the founder of the program and has taught oceanography for 42 years at St Petersburg College.

He showed slides of many of our best wrecks before they were sunk and some after their sinking. We had a group of about 40 people attend. Attached are pics of the Blackthorn, Sheridan & a bomber. Sorry they're from my Blackberry.

Next is Dr. Mathews lecture & slide show on Coral Reefs, which will be Tuesday Nov. 17 at 7 pm, at the Clearwater Mac's Sports store. 2126 Drew St., Clearwater, FL 33765 (727) 442-9931

Dr. Mathews is forming a group of divers to begin documenting marine life concentrations for our area.

Dr. Mathew' lecture about corals on the 17th was good too!

He has a Fish Specialist coming in on Tues. Dec 8th, at 7 pm. Mac's Clearwater.
