What are the best ways of dealing with a free flowing reg?

awap:I dove with a guy who said he did just that to stop a FF caused by freezing of his second stage. He was a pretty big boy. It can be rough on hoses.
cerich:It would solve a second stage free flow from freezing and in a couple mins of not being used underwater I'll bet the ice melted....
