Hi mislav

Thanks for bringing this to our attention - it's the 21st century and this barbarism should stop, simple as that! Have posted the link on another forum and requested that everyone post it to their mailing list. Hope it helps - it's wrong, it shouldn't happen!

Hi Jeff & Susi - Mislav & Tanya here. :)

Thanks to you and everyone for signing the petition. Today, there's an even more alarming headline on that site: Commercial whaling could be legal again in days! I sure hope this doesn't happen.

Whatever we can all do is needed. The IWC rep's from Togo and other small nations may swing the vote today. Luckily, the rest of the world has kept Japan's delegates at bay...but it's going to be a nail biter. Such bad news for the most noble of beasts. :( X

Just a late addition. The Japanese Whalers were defeated when one of their in-the-pocket delegates did not vote as anticipated. Very, very close though.

Hooray. The Dutch will play a key role next year as they work to strengthen the environmental aspect of the IWC and keep out the politicking that was so apparent this year. X
