I have a bad case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), and as I transition to doubles I'd like to sell some of the tanks I don't use anymore. Both are less than 2 years old, in current vis and were bought new. I have receipts.
.
For sale: Worthington X8 HP 119 steel tank. Thermo 3442 psi yoke/DIN valve. $250 firm. (FYI Leisure pro price $389.95)

Aluminum Catalina 13 ft pony. 3000 psi K valve. $60.00. (Leisure pro price 103.95 plus shipping).

I live in VA Beach, local pickup only, and can send photos if wanted.

Hey Rob, what size tanks did you go with for doubles? Why didn't you just buy another 119 to pair up?
My wife is getting ready to do her TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures class so I got her a set of LP85s. Will probably need a couple more 40s & deco regs shortly.LOL
You never have extra gear. With the new doubles that brings my total to 15 tanks.
What was I thinking.

Rob,
Yeah, I hear you, but the 119 is really heavy, and double 119's is probably more than I need. I am doing it mainly for redundancy and better trim and balance than a single with a pony.

I have a doubled set of AL63's that I put together as a sort of test project. I picked them up for my wife to use as singles, and it put them together mostly because I could and I wanted to play around with them at Rawlings. Kind of fun and nice and light. The manifold and bands will fit on any 7.25 tank, and I am thinking either double AL 80's or LP77s for me. I will disassemble the double 63's and keep them for my wife to use as singles.

So, I will either go with doubles AL80s (most likely, I already have tanks) or maybe double LP77's/or LP85's if I can get a good deal. Undecided as of now.

When I look at the 119 in my workshop, I see $400.00 sitting there not being used. If I could get 250 for it, I'd be happy. I'm sure the funds will end up being converted back into more gear, but I'd at least like to try to sell it.

BTW, I emailed the folks at Pelican dive charters. Looks like a nice outfit, would like to dive with them this year.

It's kind of funny.... I wish I had the foresight to just go ahead and buy the doubles, drysuit, backplate, wing, DIN regs, etc from the beginning. Instead, its been a slow descent into madness.....

Man if I had a nickel every time I heard that.:rofl3::rofl3:
I am also in that boat.:D

Let me know when you are planning a dive with Pelican & I will try to join you.
Dave runs a pretty good op & you can't beat the price.

Where did you get your LP85's? They look about $450ish new (for 2). Know anyone selling a set used?

I have someone interested in my tanks. If I sell both, it only leaves me about $100 shy of a new set of doubles :D:D

I love zooming around Rawlings solo on my double 63's. Lots of fun. Still, not enough gas for 2 ocean dives, so gotta upgrade.

I don't know about other sites but, Phil has the lp85 doubles kit on sale right now. Maybe cheaper at other dealers but I'm happy with Phils customer support.

Kit Includes the Following:
Two LP7-85 Worthington Cylinders
XS Scuba Isolation Manifold
Valve Plugs for Singles Diving if Desired
Highland Millworks 725 Series Bands/Bolts
3 Valve Service Kits

Rob, I got mine, well I hope to pick them up tonight, from a local diver who went rebreather a long while back & is starting to clean out his dive shop aka garage. I will need to get them Hydroed as he fills his own so no need to do it. They are 1998 tanks, but in excellent shape. He had another set, but broke them down for bail outs for his breather.
There was a set on the Deco Stop for $350, I almost bought those also, but he was getting some seriously quick offers & he was in Texas so with shipping it would have been about the same as I am paying. They were only 2 years old.
LP 85s go quick, cave divers seem to like them for there size & can get the fill they need. They also fill after each dive which unless you always dive from a boat with a compressor that would be impossible. But I have been known to do 1 long dive off a boat while everyone else does 2 short ones.
But if I was buying a set for me I would not go any smaller than 98s for off shore, even then it is possible to get 2 dives out of them, but not if you stay to the rule of 1/3rds. My 108s allow me to do so with a proper fill.
I also would not have any problem with ordering from Phil, I have a few times & he is top rated.

Check with North east Scuba Supply too
