I'm a Fish!
I'm surprised no one has started a thread about this movie. I'd say 50% of this movie is either diving or on a boat. There's some great diving footage. The opening scene is two guys diving....which turns out quite comical. If you want to see a movie this is a must.
Just for the relationship between the main actor and actress. This is a good version of "into the blue".

loved it! I'm always a fan of any movie like the 2 you stated. Wonder if it will encorage more divers?

This is the movie that Donald Sutherland was diving in that caused him his health problems. When he was treated in LA he said, "the specialist told me I shouldn't have been scuba-diving beyond the age of 50." :no

So I guess that means that there will be a bunch of divers 'retiring'. I think I'll go see this movie tomorrow.

Yeah Right.;)

Well, maybe Sutherland's physical health at 50 precluded him from diving, just like his doctor said. I have a lifelong buddy who's health at 50 wouldn't allow him to do anything but snorkel when his wife of nearly the same age was doing her thing in the deep. Just depends on how badly you have abused your body or some unfortunate health problem you might have. I started diving at 66 and haven't turned back.

Wife and I went to see Fools Gold this weekend and liked it. We were in the mood for a light hearted, not serious movie and that is exactly what it was. The scenery was great, water shots were great, made me want to go diving!! (but what doesn't?)

My wife and I saw the movie Friday, and we both enjoyed it. Sure, I had to bite my tongue a couple of times over the diving, but it wasn't anything glaring. That first scene where the boat nearly lands on them is hysterical...but that way-too-rapid ascent afterward, though understandable, was a big no-no. And then when the explosive went off underwater...well, we can't give it all away, right?
It was all good clean fun. And as for diving "past 50"...I didn't get certified until 43, and that was nearly 9 years ago. I don't plan to give up a single dive anytime soon, much less quit!

My husband and I will be seeing he movie tonight. I want him to get certified as it will make our business so much easier. I also have to admit I love both of the actors in this film. We both loved "into the blue" and will actually be filming where they filmed that movie later this month. Looking forward to this film as well.
