My daughter and I joined Jim Mahoney and his daughter for dive at Cape Ann. It would be his daughters 1st dive since her OW. We wanted to do an easy dive so first went to Back Beach. We got there too late as no spots for all the huge class groups. So we ended up at Folly which meant we had to drop gear and park away. Not a big deal. It was dead calm and a lot of divers on the rocks and in water. We arrived as it was low tide.

We toured the left wall. Temp at depth (25 fsw) and surface 60 degrees! 55 min BT. Vis was about 10-15, not that great. Cool crritter sightings. Squid Eggs, Sea Raven, flounder, Moon Snail. Good shake down dive for the girls to work the bouyancy.

We were right next to you guys! My buddy and I hit folly for the first time and loved it! Great way to get your daughter into the water!

Even with so so vis, she had a blast. I know she's hooked. We had lunch afterwards at the lobster near by. As she was lunching, she saw the wall off the rocks and said "dad, that would be a cool place to dive and check out".. Her brother completes his OW next weekend. Can't wait to take both them out together.
