Dove Folly yesterday. For me was training dive for my SSI/TDI adv. deco/Nitrox class to practice deploying lift bags, surface Marker Bouy's. (getting ready for Oriskany dive trip with PG Dive) Folly was quite the happening place yesterday with a lot of other divers. (Navy21, JohnL)

Water temp was 40 at depth. The vis wasn't the best. (15-20 feet?) The winds from west had some chop but was ok as long as stayed in cove.

Was good to get out on warm day.

Are you diving anywhere this coming weekend? I finally have some time off from school and am looking to get back in the water. Temps are forecast in the mid 40's with sunshine.:D

I miss diving at Folly. Always loved the urchins and pink colors, plus we usually saw large lobsters. The only thing I don't miss was having to carry gear up the hill after diving.

You aren't missing anything this time of year. My buddy and I were also up at Folly on Sunday doing two dives. While there were a ton of divers (14?), there's little in the way of life in the water. No crabs, no skates, no flounder, few(er) urchins, and I saw one lobster (nowhere near legal size). Also, the vis was pretty bad (10'). That said, it was a beautiful day, and diving is always a blast.

The vis reminded me of summer even if the temps didn't. It dropped off to just under five feet once we got out of the cove.

Plenty of nudi's below 35-40 feet. Lot's of color, but I don't recall what they were (my buddy knew) and I can't find them in the book I have.

I don't think will get out this weekend. I've been going out a lot for the adv deco/nitrox class. I have one more dive charter Sun 18th and then done and ready for Oriskany trip. Besides, the conditions haven't been that good that worth getting out for, rinsing gear.. The best day was a dive charter recently did on poling. Vis was best I've seen in a while. We saw wreck from mooring ball! I'll be monitoring conditions and looking to go out when seas are calm for few days straight, no winds, sun..
