Hi Scuba Friends! 15 years ago, my husband Dan and I decided to take the plunge and buy a dive shop in West Michigan. :D It was 15 years of joy, hard work, many rewards and wonderful new friends. Our boys became certified, too. In Nov, 2007, we finally decided to close our business, as it was not making enough money for us to live on any longer. It was a very hard decision and very sad. :(

I was running the Travel Center at our dive shop, along with my mentor and good friend, Colin. We moved our dive travel business to our home offices. It is still going great!

In January, 2008, I was diagnosed with NH Lymphoma. The timing was perfect, as this would have been very hard to deal with in the midst of closing the dive shop! Now, 6 months later, I am in remission and doing great! Thank God! The doc said I can start diving again very soon!

When the cancer hit, I decided I could no longer work 2 jobs any longer. So, I quit the job that made our family money, and started working my dive travel business harder. (This was a challenge, as I was in the midst of chemo....but, diving is my passion and my dream to share the wonderful world of diving with others!)

Long story short, I decided to become a member of ScubaBoard to promote the joy of diving through my dive travels and business. I will post group trips from time to time in the classified for anyone who is interested! And, I will continue to learn from all of you! I hope it is a win/win for all! Thanks for reading my long post!

All the best fishes,
Heather :)

Heather I'm glad your cancer is in remission ... thank God. I'm glad your good to go. The way you feel about diving and the sharing with others is nothing but 100% totally awesome!

It is cool you'll post future trips ... places, cost, air etc. And I would like to know your number of divers for a group leader to be covered.

Again Welcome!

Thank you for your kind words, Capt. Walt! Very best fishes!
