Just wanted to pass along a report for the dives Friday night.
The sea state was a little more than they called for, but everyone was a trooper and we pushed through some fours and fives to make it out in one piece. We ran a little slower than normal due to the seas but everyone handled it well and soon we were on top of YDT 15.
Rob jumped in with me to tie in as the larger seas and dropping into the black abyss alone had me a little edgy. As usual though we were sitting on top of the wreck and tied in without issue. I clipped on the Jotron strobe on the way up and the pool was opened.
Everyone launched off the boat, some helped by waves and timing, and soon we were all underwater. Thanks to the UW LEDs I could see the boat from the wreck. Really good viz, several octopus, big Atlantic spade fish that seem to be slightly more agressive/curious at night, handfulls of moon jellies, and a varied assortment of other life combined to make an interesting dive.
A few people got sick during the SIT, but almost all made dive two which was another great night dive. I noticed that the moon light was bright enough that I could see clearly by moon light alone while hovering at the wheel house!
We were untied and headed in feasting on Bubba burgers and sausage dogs. I had a blast and hope that the 14 others on the boat did the same.
