Greetings, I joined to take advantage of the knowledge pool here.
I'm diving in the frigid BC waters with a BP/W and looking to move towards a sidemount. Mainly to allow me to easily run rental tanks when traveling and also to make shore entries easier.
Looking at used BCDs locally and on here. Trying to figure out what the best economical options are for using misc AL80s with a drysuit.
Currently using a 40# donut with a single and 55# with doubles but all the modern SM gear is way less buoyancy than that.

Cheers,
Grant

The wing's main job is to compensate for the gas breathed (~11 lbs for double AL80s), so it doesn't have to be huge to do that. It's other job is to float your rig (including integrated weights) without you. If you split your weight to put some on a weight belt (on you), the wing doesn't have to be huge to float the rig either.
