After many years of use and pictures my c-5060 is gone.
Yesterday while diving the TTL cap/bulkhead was knocked off (lost some how) leaving a big opening in my case. Needless to say with that big of an opening it does not take long for the case to fill up with water.
At the surface I turned on the unit and it started up as usual. When I went to take a picture the screen was blank. Thinking it was in "sleep" mode I tried several things to start the camera, but to no avail. I then noticed the entire housing was filled with water. Ratttttsssss!!!
It appears the Olympus C-5060 and 54f degree Anacapa sea water do not mix well. This took out my housing, camera, 4gb SmartCard and 512kb xD.
I rinsed the memory cards as I have heard stories the Smartcards have worked after rinsing and drying off.
I still have my C-7070 I just need to find a housing for it.
