Just found out my brother will be in Cozumel this coming week and I have tentative clearance from my wife to make a trip. I am trying to figure out what I can do.

Can any of you give me an update on who is flying in/out of Coz from Texas. I am willing to drive to San Antonio, Austin, IAH, DFW -- wherever I can get the best deal on price and/or schedule. I would prefer to fly directly into CZM but will consider the Cancun/ferry option. The earliest I can leave is Jan 1 though. Return date is very flexible as long as I can be there at least 2-3 nights.

Any current info?

Continental flies everyday direct from IAH (Houston) to Coz or Cancun. I've been playing with these flights myself but originating in Coz because I was supposed to go home for a visit yesterday...I had some stuff come up here so I had to change my ticket. Problem was finding flights with my same fare basis so I could change without penalty. You are loooking at a short notice ticket, so you probably won't find the best deals out there right now.

American flies a few times a week from DFW to Coz or Cancun, but you wouldn't have the flight flexibility as with Continental.

Continental
IAH -->CZM departing 1/3 returning 1/7 is $368 + taxes
IAH -->CZM departing 1/1 returning 1/4 is $468 + taxes

Thanks for the quick response Christi. I was figuring Continental would be my best bet. Checking their website now.

im flying to cancun in jan and i hav to stop in dallas for 1 hour with American Airlines. i think our flight leaves at 10am. on the 18th its not to coz but it will get you close asap. i think it goiong to run close to 300or less. its booking up fast too.

I tried funjet from San Antonio and from Houston and they said "no flights (from anywhere) to Cancun and/or Coz until further notice." This was after trying to book something on the website a few times, then calling them directly. Hmmmm....

Houston-coz was about $250 (I think) from 1/4-1/10 when I booked it. SA was about $125 more.

I would try Continental. They have flights from Cancun or Coz every day. When we were there in November, they were flying three days direct Houston IAH/CZM. It may be more now...I would check.

We have always flown down on Continental, but this trip, Jan 21 - 28 we are flying Delta. Seems Continental is only flying out of Cozumel on Saturdays right now on a 4:45 pm flight. This gets us back to Houston too late for a connecting flight to Little Rock so it would have to be overnight in Houston. Delta is getting us back Saturday night...late, but better than staying over. Continental will probably be resuming their regular flights since we have ours booked now!

To be more specific, CO has a daily flight from CZM to IAH at 4:45 pm, not just on Saturday. The Delta flight is to Atlanta. Perhaps CO will resume their morning flight to IAH once some of the big resorts reopen and there is more demand for travel to CZM.
